Name: Samuel ‘Sable’ Diarnus
Age: 19
Race: Half-Elf
Gender: Male
Appearance: Sable stands at about five and a half foot tall, and has a slim build. His hair is black, tipped with silver-white (a glaring hint as to his mixed heritage) and has forest green eyes. His normal outfit consists of a pair of black pants that are held up by a brown leather belt with a few holsters for smaller items and money, a white shirt and a black, long-sleeved jacket over the top. Often has his chain wrapped around his body, from the right shoulder to his left hip, leaving the end hanging a little. His hair is around shoulder-length, and messy.
Personality: Sable (as he prefers to be called) is quite a ‘hands-on’ person, preferring to personally take care of problems and issues when possible and quite honestly happy to talk to people. While not one of those bubbly types, he’s not afraid of showing his feelings to others and is generally happy. He is very rarely angry, but two things set Sable off: people hurting others for no reason and people who abuse their family. Once he’s angry, he has no qualms about smacking people in the face with his chain or launching a Fireball at his target. However, due to a fairly recent tragedy, Sable sometimes has brief episodes of depressive thoughts.
Alignment: Good
Weapon of Choice: A simple steel chain. Most effective in open areas, although the blade can be used in close quarters and enclosed areas. The whole thing is silver-grey and is about five feet in length, making it ideal for mid-range combat, more specifically for restraining and bludgeoning enemies. Forged it himself.
Magic: Uses arcane magic. Favours Thunder and Fire spells, but can use Wind spells as well.
Spell List: (Spells with LOCKED next to the name will be unlocked by using the base spell a set number of times.)
Fireball (Fire Element): Launches a small fireball at an enemy, dealing minor Fire damage.
Lightning (Thunder Element): Summons a small bolt of lightning from the sky to hit an enemy, dealing minor Thunder damage.
Wind Blade (Wind Element): Summons a thin blade of wind that slices an enemy for minor Wind damage.
Flame Lance (Fire Element, LOCKED (Requires Fireball cast 50 times): Summons a spear of fire from the sky, impaling foes and then exploding, dealing moderate Fire damage.
Thunder Blade (Thunder Element, LOCKED (Cast Lightning 50 times): Summons a blade made of lightning, the stabs the ground and electrocutes the area around it, dealing moderate Thunder damage.
Air Blade (Wind Element, LOCKED (Cast Wind Blade 50 times): Summons a swirling orb-shaped vortex of cutting winds, dealing multiple hits of mild Wind damage.
Spiral Flare (Fire/Wind Element, LOCKED (Cast Flame Lance and Air Blade 50 times each): Launces a spiralling blast of flame, dealing Fire and Wind damage.
Indignation (Thunder Element, LOCKED (Cast Thunder Blade 50 times): Summons a glowing sigil on the ground, where mana swirls up to a point above the centre. Then, a MASSIVE lightning bolt strikes the centre, dealing high Thunder damage to everything in the sigil's range.
Hobbies: Talking and metal work, especially forging items.
History: Samuel (though he prefers Sable) was born in Meltokio, his rich mother having had an affair with a travelling elf, who had been exiled by his own kind. Being raised as the only child of a noble was tough, but Sable did not falter, even under the scorn of the other nobles (who knew not his lineage, although they did know that he was the son of a mere traveller). Finding a way to vent frustration was simple, as he soon gained a job in a local blacksmith, where he began to learn the art of weapon making.
At the age of 16, he was working at the forge when he heard rumours of the return of Spiritua, as told by some fearful castle guards. This was following a series of strange events, and soon a stranger event was to follow as the twin worlds of Tethe’alla and Sylvarant fused once more into their combined form, the World Tree restored by the efforts of Lloyd Irving and his allies. Now, the world as he knew it changed in a rapid, tumultuous manner, and in the midst of the chaos of the three years of the worlds combined, as well as the events surrounding Ratatosk, that Sable’s mother fell ill and died.
Devastated, the young half-elf was soon found out, and though racial prejudice was less prominent, he still decided to leave the capital, taking a small part of his fortune and forging a chain to use as a weapon. Looking back upon his home city, he shrugged and began travelling the land. For what, he didn’t know, but Sable just couldn’t stay in that place anymore, and so he journeys on.
