Katrina blushed at Lucien's request, the fact he called her "my dear" sending a shiver down her spine, and she started stuttering.
"Uh w-well, you see, I , uh..." She said, before her uncle cut in.
"There is a chance that mother will insist that Katrina, and you, as her guests, will stay for dinner." He said, leading the group to a two story house surrounded by rhododenrons and painted a sickly shade of green. Katrina entered the house and immediately covered her nose.
"Agh... it reeks in here..." She said, "Why does she always wear so much perfume?"
"I see you've become quite rude since your last visit Katrina." an icy voice said, "Well, what are you standing around for? You and your guests come in here and sit down. Charles.... Start making Dinner."
Katrina looked to the source of the voice, an elderly woman who was sitting on a couch and gave a very cold glare to the group as Charlie bowed his head and headed to the kitchen. Katrina sat down in a chair across from her. The two being seperated by a small table.
"So, what do you want Grandma Betty?" Katrina asked, only to get hit across the face by a riding crop.
"You are to refer to me as Grandmother Betheseda, you sin against Martel." the old woman said, her hatred obvious."You should have been eaten by an Insect Plant."
"Almost was once, sorry to ruin any good dreams you might of had tonight."

Lucien immediately retorted by smacking the back of Granny Bethesda's face with the back of his cold, pale hand. "You wench. How dare you attack Lady Katrina in such a way. Have you no love for your supposed granddaughter you cold, heartless harlot, that you would so cruelly attack your own flesh and blood? I say, it is creatures such as yourself that make me ashamed to sometimes call myself remotely human."

"... mayhaps we should all calm down, lest we continue to perform actions that we may deem regretable at a later date." Sable suggested, wincing at all the hitting going on. So much for just showing up and having an awkward yet decent discussion. The half-elf sat down, and looked at Katrina's grandmother, crossing his hands. "I include you as well, Madam Betheseda, in that statement. Recall that it was you who requested Madam Katrina's presence, hence you should not be so... antagonistic. After all, she came, did she not? Now, perhaps we can get to business."

"Correction young man," The grandmother said, ignoring Lucien's hit. "I requested one of my grandchildren to come. I was just unlucky to get her."
Katrina simply rolled her eyes at that comment. "Right. What did you want to say Grandma Betty?" She then said, blocking the incoming second attack with her left arm, a muffled "thunk" coming from the impact. The old woman raised an eyebrow at this but merely continued.
"Right. I was hoping to give my estate to one of your brothers, Erin or Reinzel... But, I guess I should give you something.... Maybe my jewelry?"
"I don't want anything from you." Katrina then said, glaring. "Last time you gave me something to wear from your jewelrybox, I was nearly killed. If I am forced to get something of yours, I'm taking it to the church to get it purified."
"Right. Hopefully you won't be in town for long... I guess I will let you stay for the night... the guest rooms are upstairs Katrina."
"I know where they are Grandma." Katrina said, getting up. "Have Uncle Charlie come get me when dinner is ready... I have some things to do in private."
The theorist then left the room and headed upstairs, took a right, and went into one of the rooms. It was a modestly decorated one, with a desk, a bed, and two chairs. One of them being bolted to the floor for some reason. As she closed the door behind her, she sat down at the desk, and looked through her bag, pulling out a towel, an oil can, and a screwdriver. After placing them on the desk, she closed the curtains over the window, She took her coat and gloves off, looking once more at the clockwork left arm she had become used to in her life. She screwed it off and then started work on maintenence.
Meanwhile Downstairs, Grandmother Betheseda simply glared at Lucien.
"Now that she is gone... if you must know sir, she isn't worth protecting, or being called a "lady". Katrina Waldrip is the Granddaughter of a Liar and the one legged harlot he married. Her mother and aunt are scum, and the only members of the Waldrip family I tolerate are her brothers. The Waldrip women are nothing but trouble."

"...I ought to brandish this whip and see if it would affect you, monster." Lucien said, snarling a bit as he moved his coat aside to show off the whip, especially the cross emblazened on the handle. "I warn you now. If you aim to strike Lady Katrina with this again, I will strike YOU down."
With the tossing up of his jacket, similar to another vampire, he went off after Katrina, making sure she was Ok. Being a good person though, he dragged Sable along with him, not wanting the poor soul to endure the horrors of Granny Bethesda.

"Wha- hey!" Sable was yanked away by Lucien, pulled away from the antagonistic old woman. The half-elf gave the other male a half-hearted glare, wondering about that last comment Betheseda gave. So the family had some sort of trouble with female members in the past, interesting. This would bear investigation, if he was able to. But he just sighed, looking at Lucien. "That won't help, you know. She won't listen."

After the two men left the room, Betheseda simply groaned. "Was that man trying to frighten me? I have been though much worse in the past."
Katrina meanwhile, was oiling the gears in her fake arm. At least, until the oil can suddenly got clogged.
"Oh you got to be kidding me..." She said, and looked into the nozzle to try and see what was causing the clog. Yeah, nothing could possibly go wrong here.

Lucien walked in on Katrina as she was trying to apply oil to her arm. "...Remind me to scare the fark out of your grand-" He was about to say, until he noticed the mechanized ligament. "...Oh my Goddess, what happened?!" He got out of a quick breath, and immediately went over to inspect the clockwork bodypart.

"Wait, what's wrong... oh." Sable poked his head into the room and caught sight of Katrina's artificial arm. Looking at Lucien, he tilted his head, raising an eyebrow. "Well, you're behind the times. Artificial limb technology is fairly new and can be pretty expensive, but I've seen one or two being made before." The half-elf stepped into the room a bit more. "Anyway, your grandmother is... uh... how do I put this without being rude?"

Of course, the moment she heard Lucien's panic, Katrina flinched and ended up with a face full of oil. She then started feeling around with her natural arm for the towel, found it, and wiped her glasses off before shooting a glare at Lucien.
"To answer your question Sable, you can't. Grandma Betty is a hateful bitch." She then got out of the chair, and slapped Lucien as hard as she could with her right hand.
"Now then Luci, I thought you figured it out when you checked my arm back in Asgard when it got jammed. As for what happened, remember that insect plant I mentioned to my Grandma? It was a baby one, and it bit off my lower left arm when I was six."

"I never asked that. I was only showing concern for someone I cared about. Excuse me for doing so. Now, let me see your arm. I've tinkered with things of this sort before..." He said, and his glowing yellow eyes began to scan over it vigorously, studying the clockwork contraption.

Katrina then got between him and the arm, her face blocking the view.
"Hey now, you said you were asleep for two hundred years, there is a chance you'll break it, and then Reinzel will get angry. Besides, I was almost done oiling it up so the gears wouldn't rust..." she then trailed off when she realized just how close her face was to Lucien's at the moment, and blushed.
"... that... that and I can handle it on my own..."

Lucien suddenly felt something he hadn't felt in at least two centuries- possibly even more- and that was a thump, a pounding that suddenly sprang to life in his chest. It was his human heart, and it began to beat again at a quickened pace. The suddenly flow of cardial activity got his blood pumping, causing his face to turn a bright shade of red. "I-I um..."

Katrina saw Lucien blush as well, and as much as she wanted to turn her head and put her fake arm back on, she couldn't. Her eyes were locked on to Lucien's yellow ones, and she felt like she was being sucked into them. She felt her spine tingle as her heart beat quickly.
Why can't I look away? she thought,Sure, he's handsome, and he saved my life, but... he acts too much like a noble that it's annoying to me. Still, his eyes kind of remind me of honey... and despite those scars... I want to hold him close... ARGH! Get a hold of yourself Katrina! As tempting as it is to kiss him right now, giving in would probably make him feel like he has control over me. Still... it wouldn't hurt to give him one kiss, would it? No, no, don't think about that, he's probably going to use something like that against me later.
Of course, as her mind was trying to decide whether or not to kiss Lucien, her face was moving closer and closer to his, until she found herself with her lips brushing against his.
Okay... it seems Instict won out....

Before she knew it, Lucien was a quivering mess before her. As her lips pressed against his, a schoolboy emerged from the dark nobleman before her. Not in actuality, mind you, but in persona- He shook and shivered like he had just been brought from a frozen lake, the shock of this event far too great for him to bear. But yet, he pressed on. Because this shiver felt good. It felt right to him, somehow.
"Thank you instinct." He thought, shutting his bright yellow eyes, which, for a second, seemed to go to a bright shade of red or pink...

"... guys, I'm still right here." Sable spoke up, raising an eyebrow at the actions of the other two. Crossing his arms, the half-elf shook his head. "This really isn't the place for this, considering how antagonistic our main host is and the chances of her reaction to this being negative are pretty high."

Katrina heard what Sable said and immediately broke away from the kiss. She then quickly finished oiling her arm, replaced the metal plates that covered the gears, which were made of copper and the plate on the back of the hand had a design resembling an iris. She then took the arm, screwed it back onto her stump of a left arm, and after wiggling the artificial fingers, she wiped her hands on the towel, and put her coat and gloves back on.
"Sable's right,"she said, turning her back to Lucien, "This isn't the time or place for something like that. Also, You two keep my arm a secret, okay? the only ones who knew about it before were my parents, my grandpa who made my original fake arm years ago, and my brothers, Erin and Rienzel." A few minutes later, there was a knock at the door, her uncle's voice coming through.
"Hey, um, it's time for Dinner." he said, "I'll see you and your friends downstairs in the dining room." The man's footsteps could then be heard walking away from the door, as Katrina rolled her eyes before heading out of the room.
"I hope Dinner is quick," she said, "The less time I spend talking to her, the better."

"Oh, trust me, I have an idea for dinner." Lucien said with a monstrous, wicked looking grin. "I plan on giving her quite the memory this night..." He cackled a tiny bit, not seeming like the normal Lucien. Thoughts of revenge danced around in his head, and he clacked his fingers together, "Oh, yes..."

"... you know, revenge is not conducive to survival rates when it comes to antagonistic relatives." Sable muttered as he gave Lucien a wary glance, before heading down the stairs to join dinner, aka 'interrogation'.

Katrina smirked as she heardwhat Lucien said, and replied jokingly, "Yeah, you can probably do something to actually scare her, and then kidnap me to get out of town."
As she laughed all the way to the kitchen, and soon smelled what her uncle cooked.
"Hmm... smells like steak!" she said, and sat down at the table, sitting across from her uncle, and her grandmother.
"So... Katrina, you are in the company of two men, just like your Grandfather's wife when they were young. Why MY son took HIS last name, I'll never know. But, I guess there must be some sort of mental illness in that one legged wench's family that your mother and aunt caught. Speaking of her, I give my condolences about your mother's death last year." the old woman said, sarcasm dripping of her every word.
"You didn't when you came and spat on her, Grandma Joyce and Dado's graves." Katrina said, glaring as she ate her steak.
"Feh, they deserved it." The old woman continued, her cold gaze not even leaving Katrina. "They consorted with demons, and they never lifted a finger when the Desians took away your uncle Butch when he visited. They should have taken you instead."
Katrina said nothing to that, choosing to be the better person and not fall for the bait the old woman had set.
Lulu, whatever you're planning, it better be good. Because Grandma Betty can go to hell for all I care.
